Tirthankar Parichay - Qualities, Facts | Future 24 Tirthankars and More..

Image
There have been an infinite number of Tirthankars in the past. Yet, the number is so minuscule compared to the total number of living beings. In our universe, there are currently 20 living Tirthankars, with 4 residing in our own Jambudweep , 8 in Ghatikhand, and 8 in Ardh-Pushkarvadweep. All Tirthankars are Keval Gyani's, but not all Keval Gyani's are Tirthankars. Even though a Keval Gyani is as knowledgeable and can see part present and future of everything exactly like a Tirthankar, several other qualities differentiate a Tirthankar.  Tirthankaras possess unparalleled physical strength, even from childhood . To get some idea of their physical strength, let's draw an example. Lions are one of the strongest in terms of physical strength. The strength of 2,000 lions is equal to the strength of 1 Ashtpad (an eight-limbed monstrous dinosaur-like animal). A Baldev is as strong as 10 lakh Ashtpads. The strength of 2 Baldevs is equal to the strength of 1 Vasudev. A Chakravarti...

Jain Ramayana - A Brief Summary of The Future and The Past

Image
There are 63 illustrious personalities or Shalakha Purush in every half of the time cycle - 24 Tirthankars, 12 Chakravarti Kings, 9 Vasudevs, 9 Baldevs, and 9 Prativasudevs. Jain Ramayana is the story of 8th Vasudev Narayan (Lakshman), 8th Baldev Padam (Ram) and 8th Prativasudev Raavan . It is not just a story of how Narayan Lakshman killed Pratinarayan Raavan  but also the life journeys of many great souls, including Hanuman, Sita, Bharat, Bali, Sugreev, etc.  Jain Ramayan, happened in the era  after 20th Tirthankar MuniSuvrat Swami  had attained Moksha. So this is the story of 51st 52nd and 53rd Shalakha Purush as per Jainism - (20 Tirthankars 7 Vasudev-Baldev-Prativasudevs and 9 Chakravarti kings had already lived before them). Other very prominent personalities in the Jain Ramayana are Hanuman and Sita.  Both Ram and Hanuman attained Moksha  in the same lifetime and are Siddha Bhagwan for Jains. However, Jeev of Narayan Lakshman and Prativasudev Raavan ...

Jainism and Science

Image
Jainism not only tells us principles and way of life, but also gives very detailed explanations of each and every phenomenon happening around us. Jainism doesnt believe in a universe created by God, but in a universe driven by fundamental laws, which forms the basis of modern science as well. Here in this blog, I put a few things that give us proof of vast plethora of knowledge that exists in Jainism, how science is unfolding and re-discovering facts which have been known and established doctrines in Jainism for millennials altogether. Also the moment we use our knowledge of Jain Scriptures, almost all so called mysteries of modern world like how were Pyramids made, to Heights of Dinosaurs will be solved in an instant. We also discuss challenges faced by scientists and why the profound depths of Jainism's wisdom may forever elude complete comprehension. Time Cycle, Reducing Human and Animal Heights and Other Bodily Characteristics The time cycle in Jainism talks about different ar...

Astrology - Spirituality - And The Karmic Science

Image
A question arises, if everything is known, planned and pre-decided, as per Astrology then isint it a conflict with entire science of spirituality? Why aim to improve, work or do penance if the fruits of life are already known? Is Astrology at loggerheads with Spirituality?  In reality, both the sciences, Astrology & Spirituality, are consistent with each other. A deeper understanding of the concepts of karmic theory and meta-physical world will make us arrive at the conclusion that both sciences are fully correct sciences and in conjunction with each other. Before we delve into above question, we must first understand the Karmic Theory a little deeper. Karmic particles are NOT abstract particles . They are  massless *  particles, real entities present in the cosmos. With the relatively recent discovery by modern scienetist of Gauge Boson (the gluons and the protons), it is no more difficult to imagine a massless particle. Infact its now very likely that our Universe i...

The Aim of This Life?

Image
For infinite years we were living in Nigod life form. Only 608 jeevs (souls) break the shackles of Nigod life form every 6 months. Millions of years ago we were one of those lucky souls. Every jeev gets only 48 human births. Either the jeev attains Moksha breaking out of the cycle of life and death and goes to Siddhshila or goes back to being Nigod jeev for infinite years again. Nobody knows if this is our 15th or 45th human birth, except the omniscient Arihant Bhagwan.  It is clear is that the importance of human life form is beyond description by words, nothing can be more valuable. So the question arises why are we here for and how are we supposed to lead this life? What is the objective?  1) Universe has charted circumstances in our lives which are essential for us to get rid of past karmas. We tend to think of them as good, bag and ugly. The whole idea of this life is to accept everything as it comes and experience the same calmness. Our own soul knows everything, know...

Karma Vigyaan - The Science of Karmas - Part 1

Image
Bhed-Vigyaan is the soul of Jainism. A deep understanding of this leads to Moksha, infact this is the only way to attain liberation. Jainism doesnt believe in any "doer" God; only in supremely knowledgeable, super conscious God. All Tirthankars achieved Moksha while meditating on their own soul, nothing else. In this blog, I wanted to take you a bit deeper in Jain philosophy, some very counter-intuitive thoughts and the science of karmas.  Exactly same actions (eating, killing, walking, loving) lead to divergent karma outcomes for different people? Let me give an example, imagine there are two persons, one ignorant and other knowlegeable (from the lens of Jaina philosophy, say one who has Samyaktva). Assume they are doing the same karmas (read same actions, from the worldly perspective) - enjoying the same pleasures of touch, delicious food,  family, married life, kids etc. This leads to shedding of karmas for the knowledgeable person and adding of bondages for the ignorant o...

When will we attain Moksha ?

Image
Moksha is the state of permanent bliss, no re-births, just pure light. However, there will be infinite souls who will never achieve Moksha and would remain trapped in this cycle of life-death-birth-rebirth for eternity, going through various life forms in hells and heaven, plants, animals and as humans.  Naturally a question arises: "When will I/we/any Jiva  attain Moksha?" In how many lives, rebirths can one attain Moksha from here? Our Aagams are encyclopedia of knowledge, leaving no question unanswered. If there is one Aagam I would recommend every follower to read , it is the 5th Aagam, Vyākhyāprajñapti  (or The Bhagvati Sutra ). While answering questions of Gautam Swami, Bhagwan Mahavir gave us the answer to above question as well.  Bhagwan Mahavir said that there are three degrees of  practitioners of Samyak Gyaan (Right Knowledge), Samyak Darshan (Right Faith) and Samyak Charitra (Right Conduct): 1st Degree - Superlative ("Utkrisht" or of the highes...
