The Aim of This Life?
For infinite years we were living in Nigod life form. Only 608 jeevs (souls) break the shackles of Nigod life form every 6 months. Millions of years ago we were one of those lucky souls.
Every jeev gets only 48 human births. Either the jeev attains Moksha breaking out of the cycle of life and death and goes to Siddhshila or goes back to being Nigod jeev for infinite years again. Nobody knows if this is our 15th or 45th human birth, except the omniscient Arihant Bhagwan.
It is clear is that the importance of human life form is beyond description by words, nothing can be more valuable. So the question arises why are we here for and how are we supposed to lead this life? What is the objective?
1) Universe has charted circumstances in our lives which are essential for us to get rid of past karmas. We tend to think of them as good, bag and ugly. The whole idea of this life is to accept everything as it comes and experience the same calmness. Our own soul knows everything, knows the past and the cosmic plan, everything. It is an up-hill but doable task for our conscious mind.
2) The key is NOT doing no karma, for everyone in human form (or any other life form) is bound to do actions all the time. The important thing is not to associate with it. There should be no sense of doer-ship. In our mind we should never get a feeling that "I am doing this" "I am...." this is the genesis of binding karmas and perennially being stuck in karmic world. In the previous blog, we took a deep dive into how the enjoyment of sense perceived objects (living or lifeless) by the Samyakdrishti jeev (person with right knowledge) leads to shedding of karmas, whereas same actions leads to further bondage for others.
3) Selflessness. Never expect or desire any fruits from any action we perform. For we know, in reality we are just a medium for universe to perform the task and not the doer ("nimit matra"). All our actions must be for greater good. Sacrifice for others but not expect anything back.
4) "Main Shudh Aatma Hun" - I am a pure soul. I am a blissful soul. I am not this body. The body we see will transform into soil and air in sometime. This is the eternal truth and a deeper understand of this alone can end all miseries and propel the jeev to Moksha.
5) Ego is the key reason for attachment and binding new karmic atoms. Ego makes us think, "I did it", "I helped him" "I gave.. " "I". The moment we get rid of ego, and filled with gratitude surrender ourselves to the universe, that very moment the journey has started. This is why our soul chose to be here, to learn a lesson, to master a new skill that it needs to acquire in this birth as it progress on the journey. Selfless surrender to the Universe!
